"A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help.
This could be caring for a relative, partner, child or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance
misuse problems."
Newsletter
Our Carers Newsletter is produced bi monthly.
Each edition of the newsletter provides relevant and current information on a variety of Health and Social Care issues; details of local meetings/events, a selection of practical support ideas, information about up and coming Centre events/activities and news about initiatives that are happening for Carers, both locally and nationally.
Carers are encouraged to contribute to the newsletter by way of sending in poetry, writing articles of interest or accomplishment, identifying topics that they would like to see some information on, or by sending in puzzles or jokes.
The Newsletter has also been used to consult with Carers on a wide variety of topics and will sometimes carry questionnaires, from either us or other providers of a service, asking Carers for their thoughts around ‘new service’ ideas and/or what they think of the services that they are already receiving. This has been happening for the last few years and many positive changes have taken place.
This service is available to all Adult Carers, Former Carers, Friends of the Centre and local professionals.
