Quite a few young carers have told us that having lots of caring responsibilities made it hard for them to get involved with social activities outside of school. For some, this was because their parent or guardian had a long-term illness or disability and found it hard to take them out. For others it was because their parent or guardian was busy looking after their brother or sister who had a long-term illness or a disability. And for some, it was because they spent a lot of time caring for their parent or brother or sister and didn’t have any one else to help them.
We can work with you to help you to go on a range of fun social activities over the year. In the past we have had great days out ice skating, bowling, to the cinema, to the 02, to the beach, to Chessington world of adventures, to Diggerland and paintballing.
There are usually about 10-15 young people on each trip and we either travel on public transport, on our minibus or by coach.
